SACRED realize that life is not all about work – and that there is a huge need for children and their families to let off steam. With this in mind, SACRED currently are supporting a number of sports teams in conjunction with Grundfos South Africa. Teams supported include a senior soccer team containing several Grundfos staff. They are dedicated players often using their lunch and tea-breaks for training in preparation for matches against rival teams over the weekends. The team recently participated in the National Amateur Soccer Competition which was also sponsored by SACRED. They qualified through to the second round but sadly failed to reach the final. There is also a junior soccer team – the enthusiastic children play their soccer matches after school and during weekends.
In addition SACRED are providing support for a girl’s netball team, they have just recently received their full netball kit and will start playing in the New Year in the township. We wish them the best of luck.
